Adelyn Grimes Obituary, Death; – A 7-year-old girl tragically lost her life due to a falling boulder at a well-known ski resort in Lake Tahoe over the weekend, as reported by local authorities and the Nevada resort.
Emergency responders were dispatched on Saturday afternoon to address a “non-skiing accident involving a child” at Diamond Peak in Incline Village, according to a statement from the resort.
The incident occurred while the girl was climbing on a hillside near the base lodge, where “a large rock became dislodged from the slope and struck the child,” the statement detailed.
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Adelyn Grimes, a 7-year-old from Reno. The resort expressed its deep condolences to the family of the affected child. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation, confirming that there was no indication of foul play.
