Adan Manzano Obituary, Death; – A sports journalist based in New Orleans, who was assigned to cover the Super Bowl, has passed away.
Telemundo KC announced on Thursday the untimely death of Adan Manzano, 27, who served as an anchor and reporter for Super Bowl LIX. The network characterized Manzano as a dedicated professional and an emerging talent who demonstrated exceptional skill in his reporting.
“We will profoundly miss Adan and his enthusiasm for sports, as well as the impact he had on the local community,” stated Steve Downing, General Manager of KGKC Telemundo Kansas City. “Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with his family and loved ones during this challenging time.” Downing further noted that Manzano was discovered deceased in his hotel room, and the media organization is actively collaborating with law enforcement as they investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Originally from Mexico City and a resident of Topeka, Kansas, Manzano obtained his degree from Kansas State University. He became part of the Chiefs TV team at the start of the 2024 season, serving as a sideline reporter. Colleagues in the media have expressed their condolences and praised Manzano’s contributions both on and off the field following the tragic announcement of his passing.
WIBW reported last April that Manzano’s wife tragically lost her life in a car accident in Topeka. She was an elementary school teacher, and the couple is survived by their young child. Authorities have not provided additional immediate details, and the coroner’s office has confirmed that an autopsy is still pending.
