(PINPIONT WEATHER) — Good Sunday Morning! We are finally tracking some rain chances over the next couple of days, which will be welcomed news for our friends across the western Carolinas as massive wildfires continue.
A mild start this morning, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Clouds will dominate the forecast today, but a warm southerly breeze will allow temperatures to rise into the mid to upper 70s. This afternoon and evening will feature a few scattered showers and perhaps a clap of thunder. Heads up for any outdoor plans, including the Knights game that starts at 1:05 p.m. today.

A strong cold front will move in for Monday, bringing the threat of severe weather to the region. Monday will start out mainly dry and mild, with temperatures in the 60s. By the afternoon, high temperatures will rise into the low to mid-70s.
The strong cold front will move in Monday afternoon, during the peak heating hours of the day, which has allowed the threat for Monday’s severe weather to increase. All modes of severe weather will be possible Monday afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts, large hail, and the threat of a few tornadoes.
The cold front will bring a line of storms for Monday afternoon, however, there could be a few isolated severe storms out ahead of the main line of storms.
It is best to stay weather aware and have numerous ways to receive weather alerts on Monday. The threat for severe storms will be between noon and 6 p.m.


The cold front will shift east Monday night into Tuesday morning, leading to drier weather. A few more showers and storms will be possible during the middle of the week, ahead of some summer warmth heading into next weekend!
