Thomas Higgins Obituary –Thomas P. Higgins, 58, of Lynn, died on Friday, March 22. He was the adored husband of Kimberly (Guiney) Higgins, with whom he had a 32-year marriage. Tom was born on January 10, 1966, in Salem, Massachusetts, as the son of the late Robert and Cecile (Potvin) Higgins. He was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School with the Class of 1985.
He went on to Salem State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business in 1992. He continued his study, earning a Master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018. He was a Business Department Teacher at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, where he had worked for the past 20 years.
He was an ardent fisherman, enjoyed gardening, cooking, carpentry, and listening to one of his favorite singers, Kenney Chesney, but most of all, he loved being around his students, family, and friends, and will be missed by everyone he knew. Besides his loving wife of 32 years, he is survived by his sons, Brandon and Trevor Higgins of Lynn;
His siblings and their spouses, Robert Higgins and Tami of Minnesota, James Higgins and Mary of Beverly, Kathleen and John Augulewicz of Eliot, ME; his nieces and nephews, Eric, Kerry, Breanna, Erin, Adam, Candice, Anthony, Madison, Jackson, Emily, Abby, Lindsay; his great nieces and nephews, Ella, Emma, Jake, Michael, Zion; his in-laws, Robert and Gail Guiney of Nahant,
Visitation will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, from 12PM to 4PM at the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn, with a ceremony at 4PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to the Tom Higgins Scholarship at Peabody High School, 485 Lowell St., Peabody, MA 01960.
