A man faces multiple firearm-related charges for allegedly pointing a gun at someone during a road rage incident in East Lyme on Sunday.
The incident was reported on Chesterfield Road at 8:20 p.m. when officers responded to the area and spoke to someone who said he was involved in a road rage incident, according to the East Lyme Police Department.
The alleged victim told officers a passenger in the other vehicle pointed a gun at him during the dispute, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody with help from the Waterford Police Department and has been identified as 21-year-old Anthony Sharples, according to police. He faces charges of carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a firearm without a serial number, reckless endangerment, threatening, violation of a protective order, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and illegal possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Sharples was held on a $100,000 bond pending an arraignment hearing.
