CT women dies in head-on, wrong-way crash

A 30-year-old woman has died following a head-on, wrong-way crash in Wethersfield late Saturday night, according to Connecticut State Police.

State police said a Honda Prologue Tour was heading southbound Route 5/15 near Exit 85 when the driver of a Toyota Camry, was being driven the wrong way.

The driver of the Toyota was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes and crashed head-on with the Honda, causing major damage to both cars.

The driver and passenger of the Honda suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, identified by police as Wendy Lara of Manchester, suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at the hospital, according to Connecticut State Police.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information about the crash are asked to contact Troop H-Hartford at (860) 534-1000.
