Mike Hummel Death, Death Cause- The news that Mike Hummel had passed away today was discovered. a former classmate who had been with him since first grade and who passed away in Pennsylvania, had a very accomplished life. He graduated from West Point, was a decorated war hero, taught in the military, taught in college, and was a police officer. On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Michael L. Hummel, Ph.D., who resided in Coal Center and was 67 years old, passed away.
He was born on November 12, 1956 in Moundsville, West Virginia, and his parents, Joseph and Helen Meyer Hummel, both passed away before his birth. During his time at Penn Western University in Pennsylvania (located on the California campus), Michael held the position of senior professor of criminal justice and security studies. He was a tenured and full-ranked professor.
In addition to that, Mike was a trained police officer in the state of Pennsylvania. He also worked as an active-duty patrol officer at the Charleroi Regional Police Department and the Monessen Police Department on a part-time basis. Dr. Hummel is also a retired military officer who served in a variety of leadership positions for a total of 22 years. These positions include commander of a law enforcement company (HQ) and commander of a special reaction team at the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, infantry scout platoon leader, and numerous special security and combat operations.
He also served as a team commander and squad leader for the 2/75 Ranger Unit at Fort Lewis, Washington, during his time in the military. Not only has he served in warfare with the 2/75 Rangers and the 101st Airborne Division, but he has also participated in real-world policing operations as a military police officer and as a city police officer in Pennsylvania. Both the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy employed Mike in law enforcement and security positions during his time in the government department. As the director of performance, assurance, safety, law enforcement, and corrections, he served in that capacity.
