Duane Bolton Death- The demise of our dearly valued colleague, Duane Bolton, occurred on Thursday, March 14, 2024, and the FAA family was filled with profound sorrow upon his passing. Since the year 2017, Duane has been an indispensable member of our community, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of everyone who had the honor of getting to know him. While we are grieving his passing, we are thinking of the deep influence dad had on us and the experiences that we shared that we will always cherish.
Over the course of his time at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Duane served as more than simply a colleague; he was also a friend, a guide, and a consistent source of optimism. Every interaction was filled with joy because to his contagious smile, his signature dad jokes, and his inexhaustible enthusiasm for life. Duane had a knack of brightening up whatever room he visited, whether he was diligently caring for his beloved Kenworth T909 or simply brightening our day with his presence. whatever room he entered was ablaze with excitement.
In addition to his humorous demeanor, Duane was a rock of support and strength for people who were in his immediate vicinity. The everlasting mark that his compassion, kindness, and genuine concern for other people left on our hearts will never be erased. He exemplified the attitude of togetherness and camaraderie that characterizes the FAA family, which ultimately contributed to the development of a sense of belonging and camaraderie among all of us.
As we struggle to come to terms with Duane’s passing, we would like to express our most heartfelt condolences to Carol, his wife, and the rest of his family. During this trying time, we are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers, and we are here to provide them with unshakable support and comfort as they work through their loss. Duane, who was fondly referred to as “Papa Smurf” by a number of us, leaves behind a legacy that is filled with love, laughter, and memories that will be treasured forever.
Even though he is not physically present with us anymore, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched for all of eternity. It is my hope that his memories will serve as a source of solace and motivation for each and every one of us as we continue to carry on his legacy of caring, optimism, and companionship. Duane, our beloved friend, be at rest. Your physical presence will be sorely missed, but your memory will continue to bring joy to our lives and serve as a compass for us even under the most trying of circumstances.
