Mary Farley Obituary, Death – Mary Lou Farley, who was 73 years old and a resident of Erie, passed away calmly and peacefully on November 12, 2021 at her residence. Her parents, Rose Marie McClimans and Roy Shaffer, welcomed her on June 9th, 1948. Until the day he passed away on October 20, 2010, she was a homemaker who cherished her husband, Delbert Fraley, from the time they were married for 31 years. Bread of Life Church counted Mary Lou as an active member occasionally.
She would find strength in the Bible through both the happy times and the terrible. She would frequently jot down verses from the Bible that have a significant significance for her. Many friends surrounded her at the life center and the DOM house, where Mary Lou lived up to her passing. The family would like to express their appreciation to the aides who worked at the DOM house for the wonderful care that they offered that they supplied. It was her parents and her spouse who passed away before she ever did. In addition to being a graduate of the Mildred Elley School in Albany, she worked alongside her husband, Leo A. Farley, for a considerable amount of time in managing his company, American Boiler, Tank & Welding.
Mary was a natural leader who was also intellectually interested and a voracious reader. She made her way around the world, missing only the continent of Antarctica, and she traveled extensively. Others were drawn to her because of her infectious passion. She volunteered tirelessly at the Loudonville Presbyterian Church, the Albany Academy, and Albany Academy for Girls, the RPI Figure Skating Club, and the Avila Retirement Community. She also volunteered endless hours at the Avila Retirement Community.
