Brinlee Farris,Hannah Zebraski Obituary, Death; – A student from Wylie East High School was one of two women who lost their lives in a weather-related accident involving five vehicles, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
The incident took place around 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, on U.S. 75 near Tushka in Atoka County, as reported by the OHP.
Investigators revealed that three individuals were heading north in a 2016 Jeep Compass when the vehicle hydroplaned across the median into the southbound lane, colliding with a Subaru Outback. Subsequently, three additional vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, became involved in the crash, the OHP stated.
The victims were identified as Brinlee Farris, 18, the driver of the Jeep from Wylie, and 18-year-old Hannah Zebraski from Aubrey. Both women were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the OHP report.
A 16-year-old girl from Richland Hills was transported to Medical City Plano in serious condition. Tiffany Doolan, Principal of Wylie East High School, noted that Brinlee was a senior at the institution.
“Brinlee had a warm, giving heart and loved lifting others up,” Doolan expressed in a letter to the school community. “She was strong in her faith, passionate about serving people, and lived her life with purpose and heart. She made a lasting impact on those who knew her, and her presence was felt by so many here at Wylie East.”
The driver of the Subaru, a 63-year-old woman from Atoka, was also taken to an Oklahoma hospital in serious condition, according to troopers. The highway patrol indicated that the accident was attributed to excessive speed and wet road conditions.
