A Newington man has been charged with possessing child sexual assault materials following a cyber tip, police said.

Dylan Taylor, 25, was taken into custody on Wednesday on a charge of first-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, according to the Newington Police Department.

Police said the investigation was conducted after a cyber tip was received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

After receiving the tip, detectives launched an extensive investigation that involved the execution of several search warrants. According to police, digital evidence allegedly “confirmed the possession of illegal content, leading to Taylor’s arrest without incident.”

Taylor was processed and released on a $150,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear at New Britain Superior Court on Dec. 17.

Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the Newington Police Department or submit tips through the NCMEC cyber tip line at www.cybertipline.org.
