Death Notice – The community of Roulette is mourning the passing of a beloved member, Daniel C. “Dan” Douglas, who departed on January 31, 2024, at the age of 47. Born in Olean, N.Y., on January 31, 1977, Dan was the son of Michael Daniel and Judy JoAnn Yeaples Douglas. His departure has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and the communities he touched throughout his life.
Dan’s life journey took him through various states, including Connecticut, Indiana, Ohio, and Scranton, before returning to his roots in Roulette. He dedicated his career to oil and water well services, owning and operating Douglas Well Services. His hard work made a lasting impact on the industry and the lives of those he served. A passionate lover of the outdoors, Dan found solace in camping and hiking, with a special affinity for the Appalachian Trail.
Active within the Allegany Mountain Engine and Implement Association, Dan joyfully contributed to community initiatives. Described as a kind-hearted and loving soul, he was known for his altruism, always willing to lend a helping hand. His generosity and willingness to assist others became defining aspects of his character. Dan is survived by his paternal grandmother, Beverly JoAnn Rice; his father, Michael D. (Linda Marie) Douglas of Haines City, Fla.; his mother, Judy (John P.) Mix of Roulette; his son, Daniel Allen Douglas of Duke Center; his brother, Michael J. (Jennifer) Douglas of Duke Center; and his sister, Amber Marie Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va.
While Dan’s passing brings sorrow, his memory will endure through the positive impact he had on those around him. The community is invited to join in remembering Dan during services to be held at a later time, with details to be announced. As we reflect on Dan’s life, let us celebrate the joy he brought to others, the beauty he found in nature, and the kindness that defined his existence.
