Michelle Veronica Salmeron Membreno Obituary, Death; – A 23-year-old woman has tragically lost her life following a collision involving a Miami Police officer on Sunday in the Flagami neighborhood. The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Northwest 47th Avenue and Seventh Street.
According to Miami Police Officer Kiara Delva, a police cruiser was traveling east on Northwest Seventh Street when a driver in a Toyota, heading west, attempted to make a left turn. Footage from CBSMiami, a news partner of the Miami Herald, depicted a dark Toyota with damage to its left front and a police cruiser with damage on the driver’s side.
Authorities have stated that the factors contributing to the crash are still under investigation. Two women who were walking in the vicinity were struck, either by the vehicles or debris from the accident. Miami Fire Rescue transported the officer and both women to Jackson Memorial Hospital. One of the pedestrians, later identified as Michelle Veronica Salmeron Membreno, succumbed to her injuries. The second pedestrian and the officer, whose identities have not been disclosed, are reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the Toyota did not sustain any injuries.
