Charles Blackburn Obituary, Death – On January 11, 2024, Charles Haynes Blackburn, who was 78 years old, passed away in a gentle manner while he was surrounded by his loved ones. There, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was brought into the world by his parents, Pasco Haynes Blackburn and Nonnie Blackburn. In 2001, Charlie took his retirement from General Electric Company, where he had worked as a Regional Sales Manager.
He obtained his Master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and was a proud alumnus of the University of Georgia. He was also an avid supporter of the University of Georgia (UGA). During the autumn season, Charlie’s absolute favourite thing to do was to spend his Saturdays watching his Georgia Bulldogs play. “How ’bout them Dawgs!” was a phrase that he regularly used. The lake life, golf, travelling, and spending time with his close-knit family were some of his favourite things to do.
Volunteering his time for a variety of ministries at his church was what Charlie did with his time. He was never without his cherished dog, Kirby, by his side at any time. One of his most notable achievements was his participation in the Helping Hands Golf Tournament, which is now held annually and continues to generate money for charitable causes.
Alice Blackburn, Charlie’s wife and best friend of 58 years, as well as his two children, Laurie Earnheart (husband Stephen) and Robin Randall (husband Travis), are among those who are left behind after his passing. In addition, he is survived by his granddaughters Caroline and Luke Earnheart, as well as Allie and Brooke Randall; his brother Dale Blackburn, who is married to Debbie; and his sister Donna Lancaster, who is married to Mike.
