Julisa Cannon Obituary, Death;- Nearly seven months have passed since Julisa Cannon, 31, was tragically struck by a driver while returning home from work. Her family has been actively seeking the public’s assistance in locating the individual responsible for the death of this mother of five.
At last, Cannon’s family has received the long-awaited news. Authorities have identified the alleged driver who fatally struck Julisa as Jessice Przygoda, a 31-year-old resident of Edwardsville, Illinois.
Przygoda faces charges for leaving the scene of the accident that resulted in death. To secure her release on bond, she must pay $100,000 in cash. The family of Cannon is now responding to the revelation of the suspect’s identity. Julisa’s mother, Stephanie Joshua, expressed relief at the arrest but questioned the delay in apprehending Przygoda.
“It’s frustrating! It’s incredibly frustrating because they were aware of who this woman was. The detective informed me that he knew this woman killed your daughter, and the prosecuting attorney is also aware of who is responsible,” her mother stated. “So why hasn’t she been taken into custody?!” Court documents have disclosed unsettling details regarding the incident that night.
According to the reports, Przygoda was tracking her ex-husband’s location and followed him to a bar adjacent to the Pizza Hut where Julisa worked, located off Meramec Road. It was at this point that police allege she struck Cannon, who was walking home with pizza intended for her daughters. Following the collision, the suspect reportedly continued driving into the city.
Investigators later discovered her stranded vehicle, which bore fresh damage, with the assistance of MoDOT workers. A search of her residence revealed a white Ford Edge containing hair embedded in the windshield, which matched the color of Cannon’s hair.
“When I’m in my room, I see my daughter’s ashes on my dresser, and I talk to her,” Joshua wept. “God heard my prayer last night. He listened! He heard my plea for justice!” For the past seven months, Stephanie has struggled to find rest.
“I stayed awake until about 8 or 9 this morning. I couldn’t sleep; perhaps now I can.”
