Cameron Boatman,David Beaver Obituary, Death;- Investigators have identified the cause of the explosion that resulted in the deaths of three individuals at an auto repair shop in Hillsboro in 2023.
The Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigations Bureau concluded that the explosion was caused by a rupture in a liquid propane cylinder that had been overfilled. This incident occurred on November 28, 2023, at Jimbo’s Auto Repair, where an explosion and subsequent fire erupted.
The explosion claimed the lives of three individuals, while another person was taken to the hospital for treatment. The Highland County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identities of the deceased as Cameron Boatman, 19, David Beaver, 33, and Tim Furbee, 47.
Surveillance footage captured the moments surrounding the explosion. Local residents reported to WLWT that the smoke from the fire was visible for miles. A neighbor, who is acquainted with the shop’s owner, mentioned that his wife felt the impact from their home.
“When I learned about the explosion, I informed my wife, and she said it shook our house significantly. Jimbo, the owner, is an outstanding individual and an excellent mechanic,” stated neighbor Richard Brown.
