Christian Aguilar Obituary, Death;- As reported by WPLG, Bravo was incarcerated at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution. A representative from the Florida Department of Corrections indicated that the local medical examiner will ascertain the cause of Bravo’s death.
Bravo was serving a life sentence for the murder of Christian Aguilar, which occurred while both were students in Gainesville. At the time of his death in 2012, Aguilar was enrolled at the University of Florida.
In September 2012, Bravo was alleged to have poisoned and beaten Aguilar to death. Approximately a month later, in October 2012, Aguilar’s remains were discovered in Levy County.
WPLG reported that prosecutors claimed Bravo’s actions were motivated by jealousy over a former girlfriend. Both individuals were raised in Miami-Dade County and attended the same high school in Doral.
In August 2014, Bravo was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment, poisoning food and water with the intent to kill or injure, tampering with physical evidence, making false statements to law enforcement, providing misleading information to law enforcement, and mishandling human remains.
For the charge of first-degree murder, Bravo received a life sentence.
