Peter Simon Obituary, Death; – Police reports indicate that Peter Simon, a 40-year-old resident of Wailuku, was traveling westbound on a 2023 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle along West Kaahumanu Avenue, near Lunalilo Street, at approximately 11:46 p.m. on Saturday.
During this time, his motorcycle deviated to the right, crossing over the solid white fog line, subsequently hitting a curb and embankment before colliding head-on with the northeast corner of the retaining wall for Tings Bridge.
Simon suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. At the time of the incident, he was not wearing a helmet. The investigation is ongoing, and the potential involvement of speed, drugs, and alcohol has yet to be determined.
This incident marks the fourth traffic fatality in Maui County for the year 2025, in contrast to two fatalities recorded at the same point last year.
