Richard Hayden Obituary, Death; – A man from Tremont who perished in a fire has been identified following his death at a hospital in Peoria.
According to a news release from the Peoria County Coroner’s Office, officials were informed on Monday afternoon about a man who had succumbed in the emergency department of OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center.
The deceased, Richard Hayden, aged 69, from Tremont, arrived at the hospital in a state of unresponsiveness, exhibiting no signs of breathing or a pulse. He was declared dead at 2:07 p.m.
An autopsy revealed that Hayden had experienced smoke inhalation and suffered extensive burns, including second- and third-degree burns across his body, as stated in the release.
Toxicology tests are currently pending, as mandated by state law. The incident is still under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Department.
