Louise Shockey Obituary, Death – On Monday, October 2, 2023, at the age of 91, the world lost a kind and generous person when Louise Shockey left her home in Atchison, Kansas. She passed away in the Atchison Hospital among the affection of her loved ones. Her legacy of selflessness, perseverance, and care for others will go on in perpetuity. Louise, the beloved daughter of Roy A. and Gertrude E. (McBride) Kuhnert, was born on June 17, 1923, in Atchison, Kansas. She attended public schools in Doniphan, Kansas, and Rushville, Missouri, during her formative years. Louise was always there to help out in the fields and around the house as she grew up on the farm with her family.
She started working at the Horton Garment Factory and stayed there relentlessly until Sonny finished college. She made an incredible effort to ensure the well-being of her loved ones. Louise finally resolved to follow her own aspirations after watching her son graduate. She went on to finish college and become an accomplished cosmetician. Louise’s Beauty Shop, which she founded and oversaw with enthusiasm and skill, flourished under her watch until she finally decided to retire.
