Richard Klett Obituary, Death- We mourn the death of our dear grandfather, Richard Klett, at 86, late last night. He died in good spirits, sitting up in his hospital bed and enjoying his dying moments with us, surrounded by his family.
Richard’s strong trust in God gave him hope that he would soon see his beautiful wife, Rose, whom he missed. His smile, even in death, showed his resilience. Richard had a golden heart and loved his family unconditionally. He would chase us about with his playful antics, including showing off his belly button fluff, which still puts a grin to our cheeks.
Richard had a rare blend of wit and authority. He was quick-witted and liked puns as a Navy veteran. The camaraderie of his fellow veterans and his bravery in neutralizing mines in the seas following World War II on a wooden boat as part of a mine sweeping crew were important to him.
We learned to enjoy nature, wildlife, and hunting and fishing from Richard, who loved the outdoors. He patiently taught and enthusiastically offered his enormous expertise. He helped us understand conservation and environmental care when we first went into the woods.
He beamingly saw us shoot our first deer and joyfully passed down fishing techniques that will last generations. Richard was a skilled cribbage player and a quick thinker. He loved math, but his love for Jesus Christ was greater. Richard lived for his beliefs and sought a close relationship with God. His daily prayers and Bible readings inspired us to value faith and spirituality.
Richard Klett has character, kindness, and unshakeable faith plus accomplishments. He left love, humor, and a strong faith and family. After saying goodbye to this great man, we are comforted in knowing that he has started a new adventure, leaving a lasting impression on us and training us to be fishers of men. We will never forget Richard and are glad for our time with him. May his soul rest in peace with his beloved Rose in God’s arms.
