William Joseph Thomas Obituary, Death; – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal accident involving a 2016 RAM 3500 truck that occurred on Highway 84 on February 27.
Authorities report that the truck was heading westbound when the driver, identified as 40-year-old William Joseph Thomas, lost control of the vehicle.
A witness to the event indicated that the truck had overtaken her vehicle and was approximately a quarter mile ahead when it unexpectedly veered to the left off the highway. According to the report, the truck collided with a tractor and agricultural implements situated in a field.
It was noted in the report that Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. The victim was transported to Coryell Memorial Hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Caldwell.
Next of kin have been informed, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. In response to this tragic event, the DPS is emphasizing the critical importance of seatbelt use for both drivers and passengers.
