Tippecanoe County officials were called around 8 a.m. Saturday to an apartment in the 100 block of Cochise Trail in Lafayette after two women were found dead. Tippecanoe County officials were called around 8 a.m. Saturday to an apartment in the 100 block of Cochise Trail in Lafayette after two women were found dead. The coroner identified the victims as 28-year-old Kadeisha Ross and 34-year-old Laportia Shenett, both from Lafayette.
An autopsy was conducted on Monday morning and officials determined that both women died by homicide. Ross was reportedly shot one time while Shenett suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Toxicology results are still pending.
An investigation into the women’s deaths has been launched by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office and the Lafayette Police Department. No suspect information or further details have been provided as of 3 p.m. Monday.
