Emily Willis Harding Obituary, Death – Emily Willis Harding, age 45, passed away in a calm and peaceful manner on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the McLeod Hospice House, where she was accompanied by her loved ones. On Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, a memorial ceremony commemorating the life of Emily will be place at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
After the ceremony, there will be a visitation in the fellowship hall for those who wish to pay their respects. The empathetic staff at Waters-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of directing these arrangements at this time. The cherished daughter of Patricia Alexander Willis and the late Frank B. Willis Jr., Emily came into the world in Florence, South Carolina.
Her father passed away before her birth. She was the cherished granddaughter of Jennie Alexander and B.R. Alexander, as well as Bettye Willis and Frank B. Willis Sr. Emily attended South Florence High School and Montreat College before becoming a devoted lifetime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, which she held dear to her heart.
Montreat College and South Florence High School are both located in South Florence, North Carolina. She was a devoted case manager at the Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board up until her illness forced her to resign from her position. Emily is survived by her two loyal sons, Jonah and Samuel Harding, both of Florence, as well as by her loving mother, Patricia Willis.
Both of Emily’s kids were born in Florence. In addition, she is survived by her aunt, Barbara Morgan (Scott), who lives in Gastonia, North Carolina; her uncles, Danny Willis (Jan) and Scott Willis (Jennifer), who live in Lexington, South Carolina and Houston, Texas, respectively; and her cherished cousins, Susie Watkins, Addison Willis, Kinsley Willis, Tabitha Johnson, Ashley Cannon, Leigh Ann Hutto, and Seth Willis.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Emily’s many close friends, members of the church family, and all of the prayer warriors who were by Emily’s side throughout her illness. This support was unshakeable. During this difficult time, the love and presence of those like you gave much-needed comfort.
