CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people are dead in separate early-morning crashes, both of whom were pedestrians, according to Medic.
Around 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, officials responded to a crash in the 9300 block of Wilkinson Blvd near Moores Chapel Loop in west Charlotte. Medic says it was a pedestrian struck call and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Few details have been released on this incident but according to CMPD’s traffic accidents page, this crash is described as a hit-and-run with injury.

Shortly after, around 2:30 a.m., Medic responded to another pedestrian struck call on I-77 south at I-85. Officials said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details have been released on this crash.
According to NCDOT, traffic is not being impacted by either incident and both scenes are clear. Police have not said what led to either crash or if anyone is in custody.
