David Bridgeforth Obituary, Death; – A 58-year-old man tragically lost his life on Wednesday following a collision involving a semi-truck and a box truck on Interstate Highway 70 in central Kansas. The deceased has been identified as David Bridgeforth, a resident of Trenton, New Jersey, according to records from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at 6:34 a.m. in Ellsworth County. Bridgeforth was traveling westbound in the box truck when, for reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered off the road and into a ditch. In an attempt to regain control, he overcorrected, resulting in the box truck rolling onto its passenger side and obstructing both lanes of I-70 in a southwest direction, as reported by the KHP.
Concurrently, a semi-truck traveling west on I-70 attempted to avoid a collision with the box truck but ended up striking its undercarriage, which caused the semi to spin into a ditch. Bridgeforth, who is believed to have sustained injuries during the initial overturning of the box truck, succumbed to his injuries at the scene due to the subsequent crash, as indicated in the report. The semi-truck driver, a 24-year-old man from Trevose, Pennsylvania, was transported to a hospital with suspected serious injuries.
