Leslie Foggy,Tammy Boyer Obituary, Death; – The Sangamon County Coroner has disclosed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a collision that occurred early Saturday morning.
According to previous reports from WCIA, at approximately 2:27 a.m. on February 22, law enforcement officials responded to a fatal accident on Illinois Route 97, located just west of Farmington Cemetery Road. Initial investigations revealed that a 63-year-old male driver, traveling eastbound, crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by a 43-year-old female.
Coroner Jim Allmon confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday morning that Leslie Foggy, 63, from Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 43-year-old female, identified as Tammy Boyer from Petersburg, was taken to Springfield Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival.
The Coroner noted that preliminary findings indicated both individuals succumbed to blunt force injuries resulting from the crash. The investigation is ongoing, conducted by the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office in conjunction with the Illinois State Police.
