Demontay Matthews Obituary, Death; – D.C. police have confirmed the identity of the individual who succumbed to injuries sustained from a shooting on Sunday morning in Southwest.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that at approximately 9:40 a.m. on February 23, officers were dispatched to a residential complex located on the unit block of Galveston Street in response to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, they discovered a man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the immediate medical assistance provided by paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. On Monday afternoon, authorities identified the victim as 25-year-old Demontay Matthews from Southeast Washington, D.C. As of Monday, there have been no updates regarding any arrests.
