Ava Wolfe,Jayden Butterfield Obituary, Death; – Four individuals lost their lives in a collision on Friday night near Nevada, including three recent graduates from a high school in Camden County.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, ten individuals were involved in the two-vehicle accident that occurred at 8 p.m. on Highway 54, approximately two miles south of Walker. The Climax Springs R-IV School District has identified the three deceased women as Ava Wolfe, Jayden Butterfield, and Violet Corado, all of whom had recently graduated.
“Last evening, following an away basketball game, three recent graduates from Climax Springs were involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident,” the district’s statement reads. The report indicates that a 49-year-old man from Camdenton was operating a 2025 Toyota Corolla when he failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in a collision with a 2015 GMC Terrain. Subsequently, the Corolla veered off the road, colliding with a fence and a tree.
The driver of the Corolla and a 38-year-old woman from Camdenton sustained serious injuries. The 38-year-old driver of the Terrain also perished in the incident, while four other occupants of the truck were injured. A 39-year-old woman was airlifted with serious injuries, while an 18-year-old woman and two 16-year-old girls were transported to a hospital in Nevada with injuries ranging from moderate to minor. Both vehicles were declared total losses as per the crash report.
Troopers noted that only four individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, including the 19-year-old woman who died. The other three individuals who were injured experienced a range of injuries from serious to minor. The school district has announced that counselors will be available for students and staff on Monday and Tuesday.
