MIDLAND, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Multiple fire departments across Cabarrus and neighboring counties worked to extinguish the flames of two separate garage fires on Saturday.
Around 11 a.m. on Feb. 22, Midland Fire units were dispatched near Bethel School Road to a fully involved, large garage fire with multiple vehicles inside and around the unit.
Agencies, including the Flowes Store Fire Department, Allen Volunteer Fire Department, West Stanly Fire Department, Fairview Fire Department, and Mint Hill Fire Department, assisted in putting out the fire.

A couple of hours later, Midland units were alerted to a second garage fire on Loving Road around 5:21 p.m. Midland Engine 20 arrived first and made a rapid-fire attack on the flames.
West Stanly Fire Department assisted Engine 20 and Tower 40 on the scene while other neighboring departments returned to service.

Officials say the fire was quickly put out by a homeowner who used his fire extinguisher, saving a majority of the contents in the garage.
