Durjoy Singh Protik Obituary, Death; – State Police have identified the 23-year-old driver who lost his life in a rollover accident on Route 128 North, close to the Beverly/Wenham border, on Wednesday.
The District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that the young man was declared deceased at Beverly Hospital after fire crews from Wenham and Beverly worked to free him from the wreckage of his vehicle near Grapevine Road.
Wenham Deputy Fire Chief Jeffrey Baxter, along with Wenham police, were the first responders at the scene and discovered the driver trapped inside the car. Deputy Baxter requested assistance from Beverly fire, which arrived with hydraulic extrication equipment to aid in the rescue. The crews successfully extricated the driver, who was subsequently transported by Beauport Ambulance Paramedics to Beverly Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
During the Wednesday afternoon commute, northbound traffic on Route 128 in Wenham was redirected off the highway as a result of the accident.
