Elizabeth Friend Obituary, Death; – A 43-year-old woman from Sedalia, Missouri, has tragically passed away following a house fire that occurred earlier this week.
The Sedalia Fire Department responded to the incident shortly after 11 p.m. on Monday in the 900 block of West 5th Street. While en route to the location, firefighters were informed that a woman was still inside the residence. Upon arrival, crews observed significant smoke and flames emanating from the structure. They promptly initiated a search for the trapped individual and successfully located her on the second floor.
The fire was extinguished, and the area was cleared by 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures before transporting the victim to Bothwell Regional Health Center, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday. She has been identified as Elizabeth Friend.
Additionally, the fire department reported that other residents were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor smoke inhalation injuries. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined, and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
