Norma Caraker Obituary, Death –Authorities in Troy have revealed that the deceased person under investigation for a suspicious death was the wife of a prior mayor of the city. Norma Caraker, 60, was discovered dead inside her home on Lower Marine Road at 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a press release released by the Troy Police Department. The request for a welfare check led officers to Caraker’s home, where they discovered his body. The home is located at 600 Lower Marine Road.
Chief Chris Wasser of the Troy Police Department was quoted as telling the BND on Thursday morning, “We are releasing her identity for the time being, and we should have some follow-up information, hopefully by this afternoon.” The death was confirmed by authorities on Wednesday, but the identity of the person who had gone missing at the time was not revealed. Caraker Trust owns the white frame house just inside the city limits. Charles “Tom” Caraker was named mayor of Troy after winning the election in 1997 and serving in that capacity until 2013.
