Jerry Moises Lopez-Flores Obituary, Death; – The individual who was fatally shot in a Vancouver park in late January has been identified as 21-year-old Jerry Moises Lopez-Flores, as reported by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The incident occurred on January 29 at Jaggy Road Park, situated in the 4500 block of NW 72nd Ave. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Lopez-Flores’ body upon their arrival.
In connection with the shooting, 23-year-old Machou M. Machou has been arrested and subsequently charged with second-degree murder. Court documents indicate that Machou claimed Lopez-Flores attempted to shoot him, prompting him to seize the firearm. However, investigators noted that Machou provided inconsistent accounts regarding a struggle over the weapon.
Prosecutors presented surveillance footage that depicted Machou shooting Lopez-Flores, which did not corroborate any claims of a struggle for the gun. Machou’s defense attorney has stated that he is homeless and lacks a significant criminal record. A judge has set his bail at $2 million.
