John Clark Obituary, Death- With heavy hearts, we must inform you of John Clark’s death on August 30, 2023. This man exceeded all expectations. John’s contributions to the Civil Contractors Federation Queensland Limited have established him as an industry leader. Those who knew and loved him will continue his work.
John’s dedication and enthusiasm made his vacation memorable. He led by example as Managing Director of CB Constructions. John served on the CCF QLD Board for 25 years, from 1991 to 2015. In the years 1996–1998 he presided over the CCF’s Queensland chapter and played a pivotal role on the organization’s national board. John has committed his entire career to improving the state of Queensland’s civil construction industry.
He promoted locally owned companies and thorough training for workers as a means to improve the sector for everybody. John helped many individuals in his community through his volunteer efforts, which went above and beyond the requirements of his paid position. John’s leadership and foresight were on full display when he founded the successful family business CB Constructions in 1946. Michael, Paul, and Jamie Dolan were the company’s lifeblood for a long time, and their efforts led to rapid growth and stability.
Although the company’s roots are in Dalby, it was John’s persistent persistence on the Gold Coast that ultimately contributed to its success. In 2020, when CB Constructions’ last civil project was completed, an era came to an end.
John, Michael, Paul, and Jamie’s retirement marked the end of an era in which they had made substantial contributions to their disciplines. John and Colleen relocated to the relatively peaceful town of Toowoomba after John retired from the CCF in Queensland.
Both John Clark’s personal life and his professional career were woven together by his tenacity, generosity, and capacity for development. His accomplishments will serve as a benchmark for the civil construction industry in Queensland and beyond. We are deeply sorry for your loss and send our deepest condolences to Colleen, John, Tim, Jonathan, Paul, Chris, and Penny.
A following release will include details about the memorial service. Let us remember John with joy and reflect on the world he changed. We hope that his legacy will inspire us to pursue lofty goals and make a positive impact on the world.
