William W Shelley IV Obituary, Death;- Virginia State Police have announced that a resident of Gladys lost his life in a three-vehicle collision that took place in Campbell County on February 5.
As reported by VSP, the incident occurred around 5:04 p.m. on Wednesday when a 2008 Ford SRW Super Duty truck, traveling in the north lane of Brookneal Highway, attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. Subsequently, the Ford was struck from behind by a 2019 Nissan Frontier, operated by 55-year-old William W. Shelley IV of Gladys. Following the impact, Shelley’s vehicle veered across the center line and collided with a 2012 Dodge Ram 4500.
Shelley was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries later. Authorities indicated that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. In contrast, the drivers of the other two vehicles were both secured by their seatbelts and reported no injuries, as per VSP. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
