Dalilah Batey Obituary, Death; – A 12-year-old girl was fatally shot within her residence on the South Side of the city. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday in the 9200 block of South Harper Avenue, located in the Calumet Heights area.
Preliminary findings from the police suggest that the girl was hit by gunfire while inside the home. She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The medical examiner has confirmed the identity of the girl as Dalilah Batey.
Investigations are being conducted by Area Two Detectives.
