Samuel Lilley Obituary, Death; – The funeral service for Samuel Lilley, one of the Georgia pilots who tragically perished in the collision with an Army helicopter, has been arranged for Saturday, as stated by his father. The service will be conducted at the Fine Arts Center on the Georgia Southern Savannah Campus and will be accessible to the public.
Samuel Lilley hailed from Savannah and was a student at Georgia Southern University. “I was immensely proud when Sam became a pilot,” remarked his father, Tim, in a Facebook post dated January 30. “Now, the pain is so profound that I struggle to find solace in sleep. I take comfort in knowing I will see him again, yet my heart is shattered.”
The passenger aircraft was carrying 60 individuals along with four crew members, while three soldiers were on board the Army helicopter. All passengers have been confirmed deceased, and the recovery of all bodies from the Potomac River has been completed.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m.
