CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Tuesday brought a summer feel to the Carolinas, with record-breaking high temperatures.
Charlotte was able to rise to 80 degrees on Tuesday, which shattered the previous record of 76 degrees that was set back in 1926.
This is also the second earliest day in history that Charlotte has hit 80 degrees.
We did not quite beat the monthly record, as Charlotte has hit 82 degrees in the month of February in 2011 and 2018.
A cold shock to the system is coming on Wednesday, as some high temperatures will struggle to get out of the 40s.
Another warmup, with 60s and 70s, will come late week and into the weekend. This will be ahead of a more prolonged colder pattern for next week.
