David Grosse Obituary, Death; – A resident informed CBS 58 that she heard screams emanating from her street, later discovering that her landlord had been fatally stabbed near the intersection of 31st and State Streets in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee police reported that the incident took place on Sunday, February 2, at approximately 3 p.m. June Brown recounted that she was at home when law enforcement arrived at the scene.
“I heard distant screams that sounded as if someone was in serious distress,” Brown stated. “The police came to my residence searching for my landlord, indicating they were conducting a welfare check.”
Brown identified the victim as 74-year-old David Grosse, as confirmed by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner. Authorities apprehended a 37-year-old suspect in West Allis, close to 61st Street and Lincoln Avenue, in connection with the stabbing. Shamady Cortes Jimenez reported witnessing police activity near her home during the arrest.
“There were police right there, along with a man,” Cortes Jimenez remarked, gesturing towards the location of the arrest. “I was extremely frightened; I immediately called my mother, unsure of how to respond. It was just so unexpected.”
