HOMICIDE — 23-year-old man killed in accidental shooting
On 1/30/2025 around 9:55 p.m., Officers responded to a shooting at Terrace Park near 25th and Memorial.
When Officers arrived, they found the shooting victim, 23-year-old Dylan Wade, with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Wade was taken to the hospital and died a short time later.
The suspect said he was sitting in the red Hyundai with Wade, and he was playing with a pistol when he shot Wade in the shoulder, not realizing the gun was loaded. The suspect immediately rendered aid to the victim and called 911.
The suspect is a tribal member and falls under the McGirt ruling.
Detectives will turn this case over to the FBI and federal prosecutors for further investigation. They will determine whether any charges will be warranted.
The suspect is not under arrest at this time.
