Walter Drogos Obituary, Death;- The Lake County Coroner’s office announced on Thursday the identification of the individual who was discovered deceased following a vehicle fire at a residence in Fox Lake earlier this week.
On Tuesday, shortly before 2 p.m., the Fox Lake Fire Protection District and the Fox Lake Police Department were dispatched to the 0-100 block of Scenic Lane in response to a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a vehicle ablaze in the driveway, which had ignited the adjacent home. Firefighting crews successfully extinguished the flames and subsequently located the body of the man in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. He has been identified as Walter Drogos, 76, a resident of Fox Lake.
The Coroner’s office indicated that while he sustained extensive burns, the results of the autopsy are still pending toxicology tests, including assessments for carbon monoxide exposure. The investigation into the cause of the fire is still active. No additional information is currently available.
