An individual has been taken into custody by the Davie County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a homicide that occurred in the county. On Friday morning around 6:15, deputies were dispatched to a residence located in the 200 block of Baileys Chapel Road in Advance for the purpose of conducting a welfare check on a resident. The sheriff’s office issued a statement stating that deputies used excessive force to gain entry into the house, where they located the suspect.
The cause of death was a gunshot wound to Lori Kane, who was sixty years old. On Monday, deputies in Rural Hall made an arrest of Dwayne Doby, age 53, who had a warrant out for his arrest for murder. The sheriff’s office stated that both Kane and Dolby lived in the house on Baileys Chapel Road, but authorities were unable to determine whether or not the two are linked. At this time, Doby is being detained at the Davie County Detention Center without the possibility of bond being set. Tuesday is the day that he is set to make his initial appearance in court.
