Darapheakdey Daral Sovann Obituary, Death; – Toronto police have confirmed the identity of the individual who fell victim to the city’s first homicide of the year.
In the early hours of Sunday, shortly after 12:30 a.m., authorities responded to reports of an injured person in The Annex neighborhood, specifically on Madison Avenue, just north of Bloor Street West.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from “severe injuries” and provided immediate first aid. He was subsequently transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Darapheakdey “Daral” Sovann, a resident of Toronto.
The specific cause of death and the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. Investigators are actively seeking three individuals believed to be connected to this case and are encouraging them to come forward to the police. “Do the right thing, consult with a lawyer, and reach out to us,” stated Det. Sgt. Phil Campbell from the homicide unit on Sunday afternoon.
