Aliakbar Fayazi Obituary, Death;- An 18-year-old male, who succumbed to gunshot wounds in the University Park area, was officially identified on Tuesday by county officials.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Aliakbar Fayazi. The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, near the intersection of West 23rd Street and Hoover Street, situated just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities described the suspect as a Hispanic male, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue pants. According to police, the suspect fled the scene in an Audi SUV bearing the California license plate 9MRB489.
No information regarding the motive for the shooting has been released.
