Wheeler-Norris Obituary, Death; – The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the woman who lost her life in a crash on E. State Street on Saturday as Brandy Wheeler-Norris, aged 33.
As reported by the coroner’s office, Rockford Police responded to a two-vehicle collision at approximately 8:23 a.m. in the 4600 block of E. State Street.
A GoFundMe campaign established by her sister, Hannah, states that “[Brandy] was leaving McDonald’s after getting breakfast for her daughter” at the time of the incident. Authorities indicated that Wheeler-Norris was unresponsive upon the arrival of first responders and was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 9 a.m.
An autopsy revealed that her death resulted from blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and abdomen sustained in the crash. The family has reported that her daughter survived the incident and received treatment at a local hospital.
“She was full of love, sass, drive, spunk, humor, and life. In an instant, that all changed. In an instant, everything changed. Please, everyone, drive safe and slow down,” Hannah expressed. No charges have been filed, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
