ASHWAUBENON — A large number of police cars appeared in the area around the Shell station on Lombardi Avenue and Marlee Lane on Friday afternoon, somewhere about 5 o’clock. About two hours later, a male in his twenties was taken into custody there. According to a written statement that was released by the Green Bay Police Department on Friday morning, the guy is accused of being responsible for causing serious injuries to a Green Bay lady who is 23 years old during a domestic incident.
It has been alleged that the suspect and the victim are familiar with one another. The victim is currently being treated in a hospital. In response to the incident, police were called to a residence in the 400 block of South Jackson Street at approximately 8:00 in the morning. However, when the police arrived at the scene, they discovered that the culprit had already escaped. The Green Bay Police Department’s Captain Clint Beguhn provided the following account of the events that transpired at the residence: “When we arrived, the victim had injuries and needed to go for treatment.” During the afternoon, he was spotted in the area of the Shell station. The person was taken into custody without any further complications.
The Brown County District Attorney’s Office will be receiving a referral for charges from the Green Bay Police Department. The authorities have not yet disclosed whether or if the suspect was armed. They had information that he had made comments during the day indicating that he was going to have a gun battle with the police or that he was going to commit suicide.
Witness Guillermina Avila remarked, “It was very scary because we were just about to go back to school shopping and all of a sudden the swat team started showing up so we couldn’t go anywhere.” “It was very scary because we were just about to go back to school shopping.” When the cops arrived at the Shell station, she and her son were in the middle of pumping gas when they saw them. “They just said that we needed to get in our vehicles when we were at the Shell and that we needed to leave because he had a gun,” Avila continued to explain. “We had to leave because he had a gun.”
She claimed that she saw the cops pull over what she believed to be an Uber vehicle. She witnessed the driver exit the vehicle, but the passenger did not. She made the following observation: “I felt bad for the Uber driver because he was shaking and just taken aback by the whole situation,” and she continued by saying: “He was scared shaking because he didn’t know what was gonna happen he was worried about his own safety period.” Law enforcement officials have determined that there is no risk to the general population. It is now safe for vehicles to go on Lombardi Avenue.
