Noah Jones Obituary, Death; – The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the identity of the shooting victim who lost his life on Sunday at Oak Garden Apartments in Chickasaw.
Noah Jones was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other males sustained injuries; however, the MCSO has opted not to disclose their identities at this time, as stated in a news release from the sheriff’s office.
According to an MCSO spokesperson, “One is listed in critical condition, and the other was treated and released.” News 5 has obtained additional details regarding the shooting investigation.
“MCSO Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses present at the scene during the incident, and they were subsequently taken to the MCSO Administration Building for further questioning,” the release indicated. “Witnesses who were inside the apartment on the morning of January 26 reported that Noah Jones entered the premises armed with two handguns and opened fire unexpectedly.
“One individual returned fire at Jones, resulting in his death at the scene. Two males accompanied Jones as he entered the apartment and fled when the shooting commenced.”
The shooting that resulted in Jones’s death “appears to be in self-defense,” according to the release. “Nevertheless, the investigation remains ongoing and will be submitted to a Grand Jury.” MCSO detectives are actively seeking to identify the two males who were with Jones at the apartment.
