Jeremy Tillman Death — According to the police, a parent passed away on Saturday while assisting his son in moving into his dorm room. The first day of classes at Arkansas State University was supposed to be an exciting day for new students, but instead a tragedy occurred. The man identified as the child’s father is 45 years old and hails from Russellville, Arkansas, which is approximately three hours west of ASU.
On Saturday morning, a call came in about a man who was not breathing and a campus police officer went to the call. When the police officer got at the dormitory, he discovered Tillman lying on the floor there. According to the officer who responded to the scene, numerous people had already began doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation before he arrived.
Tillman was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, which would be his final destination before passing away. The university expressed its sincere sympathies to the student and his family in a statement that was released by ASU. The university stated it was saddened by the student’s passing. Tillman has 11 children between his biological and stepoffspring families. Wednesday was the day that his funeral was held.
The statement included a portion that read as follows: “During this very difficult time, the university community will continue to support Jace and will keep his family in their thoughts and prayers.” Elizabeth Goodson, Tillman’s fiancee, told KARK that her fiance experienced a very rapid medical episode while moving items into the dorm and that “he may have strained too hard.”
