Heather DuBey Obituary, Death; – Heather DuBey, a resident of Boyne City, has been identified as the individual who tragically lost her life in a car accident in Antrim County on January 20, as confirmed by the Michigan State Police.
As noted in her obituary, DuBey, aged 49, was a graduate of Lake City High School and a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts. She had a passion for various activities, including photography, wood carving, crochet, and painting. Additionally, she cherished outdoor pursuits such as bird watching, snowshoeing, skiing, swimming, camping, and boating.
DuBey was involved in a two-vehicle collision in Antrim County on Monday. A press release from the Michigan State Police indicated that preliminary investigations revealed DuBey was driving a 2022 Chrysler Voyager northbound on U.S. 131 when she lost control and crossed the center line, colliding with a 2012 GMC Acadia driven by a 22-year-old woman from Mancelona, who was traveling south.
The 22-year-old driver was taken to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. According to the release, there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident, which is still under investigation.
